BUFFALO, N.Y. – Following a month long campaign to “Check Out Hunger,” Wilson Farms announced a total of $17,775 raised to help the Food Banks of Western and Central New York.

“We are able to provide these much needed funds thanks to the generosity of our customers and the support of our Wilson Farms associates, both of which continually assist us in supporting charitable programs such as ‘Check Out Hunger,’” said President and CEO of Wilson Farms, Paul Nanula.

This is the 6th consecutive year Wilson Farms has supported the “Check Out Hunger” campaign, during which time all 188 locations across New York State accepted $2, $3, and $5 donations from customers.

Wilson Farms has raised more than $165,000 for the Food Banks since first supporting “Check Out Hunger” in 2005.

All proceeds are donated directly to the Food Banks of Western and Central New York.  A $2 donation will provide 11 meals to individuals (depending on the Food Bank); $3 provides 16 ½ meals, and $5 provides 27 ½ meals, according to the Food Bank of Western New York.

Through the “Check Out Hunger” campaign, Wilson Farms not only raises funds for the local Food Banks, but also awareness of hunger in our communities, Nanula added.
