Starting today, customers at Wilson Farms, Sugarcreek and Wilson Farms Xpress stores will have the opportunity to participate by donating $1 to receive a paper plate, which will be displayed in the store with the donors' name. "Step Up to the Plate" runs through November 27.
The campaign has raised more than $185,000 for Meals on Wheels programs since 2004. Each dollar raised in the participating store will be donated to the nearest Meals on Wheels organization to directly benefit homebound residents in that community.
"We encourage community members to visit their local store to take part. In doing so, they will help ensure that the homebound needing home-delivered meals are served," said Benjamin A. Gair III, chief executive officer at Meals on Wheels for WNY.

Meals on Wheels Foundation of WNY, Inc. supports the dignity, well-being and independence of people through home delivered nutrition programs.
